A few random facts about me
I’m from Rome, where I was born and raised. I moved to Barcelona in 2015 to start my PhD, and I’ve been living here ever since.
My nickname, linudz, comes from “Linus” and is a reference to Linus Van Pelt. It’s been my online handle for years (even though there are a few other linudz out there).
I earned my degree in Cell Biology, with a computational thesis on the gut microbiota. I then completed a PhD in evolutionary plant genomics, before moving into animal evolution.
I was on Mastodon before it became “muskstream.” I recently merged my old science account and my personal one into a new account on ecoevo. You’ll find me there, although my Twitter/X account is still active.
I’ve always been an antifascist and politically engaged. I stand for a united, democratic Europe, for social and environmental justice, and for the right of oppressed peoples to self-determination.
I support AS Roma, but on Sundays I also like going to matches of Barcelona’s local team, CE Europa. That last one is probably the third most hipster thing I do (after being on Mastodon and having this website).
